Bagels in Bethany Beach?

This year for the first time we are spending our Delaware beach week down in Bethany. Last year we tried Surf Bagel on Route 1 up in Lewes. I thought it was perfectly fine for what I consider "beach bagels" -- fairly soft, fresh, good base for CC. Nice people too.

Anything like that down Bethany way?

We got some bagels from Uber today -- they were really good! The most amazing thing is their Old Bay bagel. Against all odds, it works. Wish we had gotten more than one of those.

Hope someone has a recommendation for you. There is a place in Ocean City MD called Uber Bagels with excellent bagels. It's about a half hour round trip, but for an authentic bagel that isn't too bad.

The best bagels in the state are from a little place in Newark, but I see you are coming from the south so you won't be up here.

thanks Rilke, we are here now and plan to drive down to Uber Bagels -- the drive from here is not bad at all.

What is the place in Newark? We pass through their from time to time.

Newark Deli and Bagels. It's on Main St, near the very end across from Grotto.

The whole wheat everything bagel, lightly toasted, with scallion cream cheese . . . yummmmy yum.
