Taco Republic - Awesome

Just went to Taco Republic on the service road of 75 just a bit north of Spring Valley and as the title indicates, it was awesome. The tacos are pricey, ranging from $2.50-3.50 each, and are not larger than your typical "street taco" (I hate that expression). But they are interesting and fantastic. I had 3: Thai Chihuaha, Route 66 and Baja Style. The Thai Chihuaha has hoisin pork carnitas topped with
asian slaw & sriracha. It was delicious. The route 66 has green chile pork stew topped with
avocado & fresh cilantro and was just alright. My far and away favorite was the Baja Style which now holds the title as my favorite fish taco in Dallas. Beer battered tilapia topped with red
cabbage slaw & lime crema.

I hadn't heard of it until recently so I thought I'd post my take here.

  1. Damn, they all sound great! Especially the Thai Chihuaha. I'll have to stop there when I'm in the area.
Thanks for the tip. Are they on the east or west side of 75?

West side. I haven't tried it, but it's close enough to work that I'll have to get lunch there some day. Normally I'm just lazy and go to Taco Ocho if I'm in the mood for tacos.

    2. Also try the Smokehouse.
BBQ brisket, fried onion strings, pickles.
Really great, but its hard to top the Thai Chihuahua.
