Brentwood Restaurants and Delivery

  • Share

My husband and I just moved to the Brentwood area and would love to hear what your favorite restaurants are for dining out and delivery. We have been to and love Sugarfish, Tavern, Osteria Latini, Takao, Nagao, Katsuya, Barney's Burgers, La Provence. What is the best delivery in the area (pizza, Indian, Thai, Chinese, etc)? We would really appreciate any feedback! Thank you so much.

  1. If you are at all frequent (or even semi-frequent) delivery folks then you should make yourself familiar with Eat 24 http://eat24hours.com/ and LA Bite http://www.labite.com/

    1. I also live in Brentwood and the restaurants you mention are among my favorites. All of the above will pack food to go but do not deliver. I am not crazy about any delivery choices in the area. Fresh Pizza is opening this month in Brentwood and they will deliverl.

fresh pizza sucks unless they're redoing their pies.

Have never had it. Just read that they are going into the Freshi space and will deliver. Have to say I'm not an expert on pizza delivery.

      2. Depending on where you are in Brentwood, you are probably within the delivery area for Lamonica's pizza, which is located on Gayley in Westwood Village. These are big, floppy, greasy pizzas that hold up well for delivery, and even reheating in your oven. They have a 2 for 1 deal on Monday (nights) and recently were offering $9 large pizzas (I forget how many toppings) after 9 p.m. If you are ever in Westwood near UCLA, they frequently advertise in the Daily Bruin, but you don't need the coupons to take advantage of most of their deals.

For Thai, the best delivery is from Siam Chan, which is just south of Santa Monica Blvd. at Colby. The food is inexpensive, packaged well, and a great deal of their business is delivery. Their pad thai is an orange mess, but their mee krob is good, the wide noodles with broccoli are ok, and they do a good job with stir fries.

For Chinese, see if Chang's delivers. If not, California Wok on Wilshire is worth a try or two to see if you can find some dishes you like.

Changs does deliver but some times it takes an agonizingly long time for your order to appear. I have had greater success with Mandarin Kitchen in Westwood (although Chang's is within a few blocks of where I live).

+1 on Siam Chan. Just realize that the delivery might take 35-40 min. However, it beats having to deal w/ weeknight traffic.

My partner ate at California Wok a few months ago and thought it was terrible. I didn't go w/ him, but he doesn't have super-high standards for Chinese food.... (although I just took him to JTYH tonight.... heh).

LIterati is perfectly respectable for what it is. They have somewhat bland-ish salads and sandwiches that are a little pricier than I'd like. The think the breakfast menu tends to be a bit tastier. However, the really convenient hrs (they open until 11PM), location, and newly expanded eating area all make up for culinary deficiencies....

          2. The Brentwood is great. Try their fried chicken. Divina and Peppone are both very good as well.

            1. mom lives in Brentwood, LOVEs Lemonade across from the post office. We're all BIG fans of reddi-Chik & the Farm Shop at 26th/San Vic. Enjoy....

              1. India's Oven is our go to for Indian food delivery.

                1. Thank you for all of the suggestions! We have tried Lemonade and India's Oven-loved both of them. Still looking for good pizza delivery, will have to try Fresh Pizza when they open.

In the meantime, have a look at www.miloandolive.com. Their pizzas are the best in the area. Although, they do not deliver, they do offer curbside delivery.

                  2. I love Pizzicato, great Italian food, atmosphere and very reasonably prices. For Sushi, hands down not question go to Sasabuni. It is Wilshire and Centinela and is imho best shushi in town.
