Breakfast on the parkways

In June, I wrote a desperate "Save us from IHop" request for decent breakfasts on the Merritt Parkway within striking distance of the GW Bridge. I got two responses, most for us coming from bagelman01. His recommendation for the Stamford Parkway Diner - which we found easily - made our morning. Wonderful corn beef hash, excellent eggs, toast that came already buttered (not a given in Phillly). Thanks, bagelman01 (and also cheereeo) who responded so enthusiastically and helpfully. Thanks again Try the diner!

Glad you had a good trip and meal. A good breakfast is often hard to find when on the road. I had a 9:30 am meeting in Stamford last week, so I took my wife with me and we had breakfast at the Parkway Diner, left very happy and then skipped lunch
