There is a new book out about "foodies" - "An Economist Eats Lunch - New Rules For Everyday Foodies" by Tyler Cowen.
It is very funny and exposes why we eat what we do and why the best food is often the cheapest. He recommends what to look for in good food at reasonable prices.
Very worthwhile to look into reading.
Thanks, berliz. I had this on my reading list but dropped it after reading some of the reviews.
There are some other threads on the book here, including this one about the horrible NY Times review (which has the classic statement "Deep down there’s nothing foodies loathe more than other foodies.") ...
