New Restaurant in Lahiere's Old Space (Princeton)

ambrose Aug 7, 2012 05:30 PM

Came across this brief mention of the new restaurant that's going into the space where Lahiere's used to be. Doesn't say much; anyone have more info?

I especially like the reference to "beautiful downtown Princeton". All I could think of was Laugh In's constant reference to 'beautiful downtown Burbank'. :-))

There's a piece by Pat Tanner in her blog---Dine with Pat. (unless that was the brief mention you meant.) Although it seems unlikely, it is scheduled to open in the fall--around the same time as Scott Andersons new venture-Mistral, also on Witherspoon.

Thanks for the heads up about Pat Tanner's blog; I didn't even know she had one! I do see that she cited the same reference I had found.

Thanks for the link. We had heard that the principal would indeed be the owner of the Panera franchises. We have no info on who will be the executive chef. Looking at the extent of work being done on the building (complete interior gut and rebuild from basement to roof) and the pace of work, I'm doubting they will open before the end of the year.

more info from "the Princeton Patch":

New Jersey native Josh Thomsen has been named executive chef.

Named a “Rising Star Chef” by StarChefs, Thomsen has been a chef at the famed French Laundry in Napa Valley, NobBill at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Tao restaurant, and Patina in Southern California.

I was in downtown Princeton on Saturday. Saw there's a Cheeburger Cheeburger that looks close to opening.
