HELP! Jam jar fell over during rest period after canning processing time

Saturday night I made a batch of cherry jam and set them on a towel with a tea towel draped over for the 24 hour resting period. When I went to move them, I found that one jar on the end had tipped over about 45 degrees or so and was being held up by the towel. Is it still okay to use, or has this put the seal in jeopardy?

  1. Is there a dip on the lid to indicate a seal? If I were you I would use that jar first and not worry about it. Store it in the fridge until you are ready to use it, it will be fine!

      There is a dip to indicate the seal, but the fridge is probably a better call. Thanks!
