masa questions: drinks and tip

Hi,

Going to Masa on Friday for the first time. A couple of questions for you Masaphiles:
--can you drink liquor there without (further) breaking the bank? Like is the $30 sake carafe two swallows worth, or the same size as anywhere else? Do they have beer?
--how does the tip work, do they just add it on automatically?

What's the starting price for food nowadays? It doesn't appear to be on the website.

Price: $450 pp
There is no 20% "surcharge" as I had read before, but tax and tip are not included.
Drinks: they do serve beer, which is not listed on the online menu. It is priced more gently than wine or sake--7/9/15 for various kinds.

When my husband, son-in-law, and a friend went a few years ago, the "administrative" surcharge was on the bill. They treated it as the tip and left nothing additional.
