If you come from an area with no Asian or have hesitation about it, or a nice atmosphere is important, then Wild Ginger works. Otherwise, there are better. As to Flying Fish, it was cutting edge about 10 years ago and its menu has not changed. so depending on where you are coming from, it's either great or something you have seen before. that said, it's well done with a bit of Asian fusion.

I go for work lunches occasionally. It's a nice space, the service is great, and the food is beautifully presented...and always bland. The food is missing something; it's always fine, but never really good. It really seems to be a tourist and business lunch place these days. You can do much better than WG. There have been a number of threads about seafood recently if you search. My pick would be Anchovies and Olives or Walrus and the Carpenter (if you don't mind a wait--no res at the latter and it's hugely popular).
