Heritage Meat at Essex Market Mixed Results

Had good experiences with beef for a stew and a pork for a slow cooked roast, so I took a plunge and bought a dry aged steak which I would not recommend. I have had aged steak from many sources and this was just dull and made for tedious eating.

I've had mixed results with them as well - but due to pricing. Some items are extremely reasonable, others extraordinarily overpriced. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason that I can tell. But it's always been solid quality - never had any complaints about that.

That said, I haven't tried their dry-aged yet. Even though I live in the neighborhood, I almost always go across town to Ottomanelli's on Bleecker for that kind of splurge.
