Barcelona-September 8-12 Critique list and provide advice please

Hi,
Its my huband and my first time in Barcelona and we loooovvvveee good food but unfortunately budget constraints do play a part in our decisions therefore I was hoping you could provide us with 1 Must Go To Restaurant in Barcelona, we are confused between Alkimia, Moo, Hisop, Cormec 24 and Cinc Sentits. We enjoy creative food with great flavours.

Also if you could advise us if we we are on the right track we have the following places picked out:
Saturday night (8th) Tapeo Anem de Tapas
Sunday (9) Ciudad Condal (primarily because everything seems closed on sunday)
Monday (10th) Igueldo
Tuesday (11th) Michelin star experience choices above

I am going to the ticket website on a daily basis to see if anything opens up during the days we are visiting:)

For lunch so far we have decided on El Quim and Quimet & Quimet. I was also wondering if anyone has been to Dos Palillos as I was considering that for a lunch??

If you think that I have a bad name in my list please feel free to advise us or any other names as we are returning to Barcelona on the 15th and we have not picked a restaurant for that.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

A fellow foodie, I visited Barcelona for the first time in May. Quimet y Quimet was our first stop for lunch - it's a great choice. We enjoyed El Quim for breakfast - highly recommend it.

You may want to also consider CalPep. It was awesome. Especially since you mentioned you have budget constraints. Food is really good, and not overpriced.

As far as your Michelin star experience, I would recommend Hisop. We dined there, as well as at Cinc Sentits, and at Comerc24. Hisop was wonderful. Cinc Sentits was good. Comerc24 was one of the worst meals of our trip. Truly disappointing.

      Hi akhorasanee,

I had a wonderful meal at Gresca in February. Great food at very very reasonable prices for what you get. Gelonch is another option, but I did not have the chance to eat there. Both chefs had a stint at El Bulli.

      Hope this helps,
      Amit

        Hi akhorasanee,
You could also go to Paco Meralgo on Sunday. Great tapas and lively atmosphere.
        Reservations are a must.
