Any good sushi in Arlington/Falls Church

I love sushi, but I have had difficulty finding good sushi here in Arlington. I guess I'm a bit of a sushi snob, having been spoiled by living in NY for many years. Does anyone know of any great sushi in Virginia or do I need to wait to return to NY?

My husband and i HAVE traveled to Japan- several times during the past 3 years. While there are only a handful of local sushi restaurants we consider, we find Hooked Seafood and Sushi in Sterling consistently fresh and innovative. They have a new roll that has a large chunk of jumping lump crab on top that is truly outstanding. Their traditional sushi is of generous portions. Would recommend the fresh wasabi. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the dc area. We also would recommend matsu and sushi taro if you're closer to dc. Enjoy!

Where have you had sushi in Northern VA and what didn't you like about it? Quality of the fish? Construction? Variety? Service? Atmosphere? There's a wide variety of sushi available here, from blah to way too expensive to not be good.

Do they do something differently in NY, or are you comparing what you've had here with your favorite go-to sushi spot in NY? Honestly, when people miss something that they've had elsewhere, they never find quite the same thing as their favorite place elsewhere.

Have you been to Japan recently?
