  1. Not sure if it has been posted in the past but McCurdy's Junction House on Ives looks to be closed, as there are for lease signs in the window. Also, Dok's Deli on Ives looks ready to open soon, as they have products in the place.

The menu looks promising but... about some point the focus on local ingredients becomes a fetish. I think this is that point. Love to know where they get their "Locally Sourced" American Cheese.

    2. slightly out of PVD/RI (but almost providence metro!) , I just want to note that Seekonk has a new Indian place called Apna Punjab. just opened in the last couple months, I think. i have only been once so far to check out the lunch buffet, but overall it was fairly promising for the Attleboro/Seekonk area that has little in the way of Indian food at all. You sure can't get goat karahi anywhere else nearby, and the service and setting were nice and respectable the one time I've gone so far.

I believe Apna Punjab is technically in Rehobeth, not far outside of Attleboro if you are in the area. I enjoyed it as well.

      2. Little birds are saying that ama's on carpenter st is being replaced with a restaurant called "north". www.foodbynorth.com

quote from their tumblr: "A lot of people have been asking us what kind of food we’ll be cooking, what kind of restaurant north will be…we don’t really have an answer."

          well, that's helpful.

Lots of info on twitter, including first menu: https://twitter.com/foodbynorth.

I heard it was a chef from Nick's but apparently James Mark also worked for Momofuku.

              More info from Eater Boston:

"Momofuku Ko alum James Mark says he'll be opening a new restaurant called north in Providence. Mark's new venture will feature dishes combining elements of New England cuisine with "heavy influences from the last thirty years of immigration that has occurred in the region," including Cambodian and Guatemalan cuisine. He hopes to have north operational "in the next few weeks."

          2. In the old European Deli location on Hope Street there's soaped windows with a cleaver and the words "Stock" and October.... anyone know anything about this?

They have a basic facebook page up, Stock Culinary Goods. Looks like it could be a nice addition to the area.
