I picked up a card from "ICONNELSPA" yesterday; they're on W. 38th St. and I have no idea of their prices or quality. They ARE, however, in NYC and have a Web site as well.
It helps to know if you intend to drink matcha straight-up or incorporate it as an ingredient in recipes. Hibiki-an's House Matcha is a nice way to cover both bases: http://www.hibiki-an.com/product_info... ; it's now available in a large bag, too. Be aware that using high-grade matcha as an ingredient is A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. The higher grades tend to be delicate and nuanced and excepting color will totally disappear, along with your investment, in whatever you're preparing. You want something more assertive that can hold its own. House Matcha is a very good introduction to matcha as a beverage and the best choice for everything else. I should also add that once your order is placed, it'll be in your mail box in less than a week.
