"Four Chick-fil-A Alternatives in 3 Minutes" Chow Video
Re: James Norton "supertaster"
I didn't mind the review of the alternative fast food joints, but....
why don't you just leave your political leanings out of your videos.
You only sound like a CBS mainstream shill with an agenda.
Oh, I forgot....CBS Entertainment owns you.
Nobody really interested in the Chow food website views it for politics, let alone your smug, politically correct, journalistic career-climbing aspirations.
I can just tune in to a CBS TV (or any other MSM venue) affiliate, for that, if I choose to torture myself.

I'm all for free speech, for BOTH sides, but why isn't anyone taking down the comments for that vid that are seriously vulgar?
and as for "welcoming new members" pretty sure most people who are choosing to post on this topic will have a posting history of exactly one post. They've swallowed the haterade and their bigotry is showing.

re: charlesbois
charlesbois, I've just read the SIX comments on this particular Supertaster video, including yours and I don't see vulgarity anywhere. This entire media circus covering Cick-fil-A is happening globally and every media outlet on and off the Net has their own particular take on the story. That's what media does. And, in this day and age everyone (including me) with a keyboard can write their comment in.
So, my question is how do you say "you're all for free of speech for both sides" but ask that the words be taken down? Confusing.

re: HillJ
There were some pretty terrible comments on the thread, since removed. I'm currently substituting for the person who normally reviews story comments and I generally review them in batches once, maybe twice, a day. The really awful comments came in after I last looked at it, but someone sent an email to moderators@chowhound.com to alert us to them, and I took them down. That's the best thing to do if you see content on the CHOW stories or videos that need attention, since there's no 'report' button over there.

re: Jacquilynne
Thanks for letting us know how to alert you all, Jacquilynne.
I swear like a drunken sailor and have the crassest sense of humor imaginable. So it takes a lot for me to want a comment taken down, HillJ. But when someone starts abusing the writer/videographer and likens them to a person who performs oral sex for money, along with a very detailed and racist description of how such sexual favors are performed, well that's vulgarity in my book, but maybe not yours Hill J.

Chow.com leans very left.
Their weak anti-foie piece made that painfully obvious. That coupled with the deletion of any threads on CH calling for support against the ban says it all. The reason? To keep things chow based and wanting to avoid politics and food.

Can't tell what you mean here - Are they left because the anti-foie gras piece was weak and leftists are for foie gras? Or are they left because they published anything anti-foie gras and foie gras is food for conservatives?
I'm for freedom to eat foie gras and I voted for Gus Hall three times.

<Nobody really interested in the Chow food website views it for politics...>
Hi there! I am "really interested in the Chow food website," and I am likewise interested in the intersection of food and politics. Please don't presume that just because you don't want to read something, nobody does.
