Visiting Manhattan

We will be visiting Manhattan this coming Fri/Sat before a cruise. On Friday, we'd like to try an easy to get to casual Italian restaurant. We will be coming over from Newark Penn Station and be casually dressed. We'd like somewhere easy to find that takes reservations, good pasta.

On Saturday, we'll be sight-seeing all day and would like to finish the day with some great Chinese. Any suggestions? We'll be casually dressed again so although cost is not an issue, our attire might be.

We appreciate any suggestions you may have!!!

What kind of Chinese food do you like? Spicy or non-spicy? Your attire definitely will not be an issue in any of the Chinese restaurants I'd recommend (or at least 99% of the ones in Manhattan), but do you care whether a restaurant has a rough appearance and unpleasant bathrooms (I'm thinking of New York Noodletown in this regard)?

How much do you want to spend on your Italian meal? I'm thinking Crispo, if you don't mind taking the subway to and from 14th St. (where does your cruise leave from, anyway?), but I don't know what your price range is.

I'd say Becco ( 46th St.) would be a good choice for you , say hi to Lidia
