Reasonable place for a group on a Friday night

Scenario: late August, 15-20 people, Friday night. Looking for a good restaurant that isn't too hard on the wallet, Manhattan/close to Times Square. Ugh. (Not my preference).

Anyone? Private room is unnecessary but loud and crowded is a turnoff.

"hard on the wallet" means very different things to different people. Can you give us a general idea of a per person menu price for food (and specify with/without tax/tip) - assuming the standard three courses, app/entree/dessert. We'll leave out drinks for now since everyone drinks different amounts, I imagine. Are we talking $20/pp? $40? $50?

If the crowd in question enjoyed spicy food, I'd probably go for Szechuan Gourmet in W 39th, though seating that many people would be tough.

Le Zie, on 7th Ave and 20th St, has delicious and reasonably priced Italian food and an upstairs room that can accommodate your group.
