What to put on the menu with Panna Kakku?

Hi There! I am having a couple of my friends over for brunch this weekend, and making my husband's grandmother's Panna Kakku recipe.

I'm definitely going to have some fruit salad (berries), as well as good coffee to serve. Any ideas what else I can add to the menu so nobody leaves hungry?

FYI, Panna Kakku is a Finnish baked pancake -- it comes out kind of like a hybrid pancake/egg custard.

    Originally thought of quiche but one custard is enough .....
    Changed my mind .... How about some quality sausage (Siskonmakkara if you can find it - http://www.dlc.fi/~marianna/gourmet/s...) or just a nice pork sausage.

    2. the complementary flavors and/or textures i.e. a bit more salt, something with crunch, less starchy.

      if you want to do meet, there's ham, sausage as suggested, bacon, turkey bacon, tofu hash, etc.

      i know it's egg on egg, but perhaps deviled eggs.

      and perhaps an odd suggestion, but the first thing that came to my mind was a breakfast-y rice or couscous or bean salad... wild rice, chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts), scallions, cooked in chicken broth and a little orange juice (a dash...)....

        Ooh, thank for the suggestion! I'd never have thought of rice. :)
