Warren, VT

My family and I are heading to Warren, VT for a week or more and need suggestions on the best places to eat and things to do. There will be a 7, 4, 3 and 2 year old and a 6 month old with us! Any suggestions for food or things/activities to do would be extremely helpful.
Thank you!

  1. Just visited recently and very close to Warren in Waitsfield is American Flatbread. It's delicious pizza with the local focus that is so characteristic of the area. We went with families and kids and loved it. You can sit indoors or outdoors. Very cozy and tasty. Another very casual place, also kid friendly w BBQ style and a decent kids menu is Localfolk Smokehouse. Waitsfield also has a farmers market on Saturday mornings with lots of treats and music and was a lot of fun. Kids also must try Vermont creemees...which is soft serve ice cream. The maple flavor is best. We loved Maynards in Waitsfield but i bet there are good ones closer to Warren. We loved our trip there....have fun!

    1. I would also recommend Mad Taco right in Waitsfield, great tacos. If the weather is nasty you can hit the theater in Waitsfield and have a drink while watching a movie.

      1. Another vote for Mad Taco. Absolutely fantastic stuff. Prohibition Pig in Waterbury has good, but pricey barbecue, and there's often a wait for a table.

Since you're traveling with kids, I recommend a trip to the Ben & Jerry's factory and to Cold Hollow Cider Mill. There's also any number of small beaches and state park locations within easy driving distance.

        1. Thank you all so much! I think we will be eating well and I'll be keeping ourselves very busy.
Mad Taco is on the top of the list along with B&j's ice cream!
          Thank you again....
