Good Salad in Albuquerque - Steak Salad
My wife will be driving from Phoenix through Alburquerque on her way to Denver on Wednesday, and she is going to take a break from driving there for an hour or so
Is there a good place not too far out of the way that would have a good salad, she loves steak salads with balsamic type dressings, or really any type of Steak Salad or if there is a different great salad in town that would work as well
Thx

I love the seared ahi salad at Indigo Crow in Corrales, just north of Albuquerque. It's really good, and the way the tuna is prepared makes it feel very steak-like. They have the option of adding various kinds of meats to all their other salads, too. It's easy to get to from I-25, they have plenty of parking, and the village of Corrales is a beautiful, restful location.
The nice thing about the various Flying Star locations is that they're open straight through from breakfast until 11PM or so, and I think you can get everything on the menu all day. I'd recommend the one on Paseo Del Norte just east of Wyoming if your wife wants to avoid traffic and parking issues. But if she'd like to walk around and see a bit of Albuquerque, the one on Central in the University area is probably the best. Nob Hill Grill, in the same neighborhood has a steak salad, too. I haven't tried it, but it looks pretty good.

If she doesn't mind some carbs in there, I've really been enjoying the Thai beef salad at Flying Star lately (has some noodles mixed in). It's a local chain, but nearly everything is locally sourced, including the NM-raised beef.
The Grove does wonderful salads. I've never personally tried one with beef, but I'm reasonably sure they have a steak option.
Torinos at Home doesn't have a steak salad, but they do a darn fine duck confit salad.
If your wife can wait the extra hour to get to Santa Fe, have her check out Vinaigrette, a "salad bistro" using locally sourced ingredients, many grown on their own little farm. Expensive-ish, but you do get something for your money.
