Need special occasion place post graduation--recommendations for somewhere with live music?

My daughter is graduating from PSU. My ex and his wife are coming up to Portland so we unfortunately have to sit at dinner with them post graduation, LOL! Does anyone know a great restaurant downtown that has live music or a loud bar or ...something not quite so intimate? We were thinking Bluehour but want something a little less...well, you get the picture.

I'm not really sure I get the picture ;o), but Clyde Common with it's huge bar and people watching vibe might fit for you. Lots of communal seating but you can make a reservation and request a private table upstairs.

Another place that often has loud music/bar is saucebox.
