Left over black currants?

I bought some black and red currants (at vast expense, it must be said) for a small batch recipe. I have about 1 or 1.5 cups of the black currants left.. and i've no idea what to make with them! Any suggestions??

    Might be too late, but I'll suggest it anyway. Black and/or red currant clafouti.

      Not too late.. I think that I will freeze them though, since I'm about to go away for a week.. Thanks go all!

      There are lots of uses.

      You can make a simple syrup with them to put in sparkling water. Use less sugar if you don't like it as sweet.

      Or an unsweetened puree for over meat like pork or poultry.

      Or throw a few whole berries into sauces for meats.

      Or make a sweetened puree for over desserts, like ice cream, or panna cotta, or cakes or . . . .

      The black ones need to be cooked to taste good. And add some undefinable unami (sp) thing that is in the background.

          Use them mixed with other fruit for a crumble. They are deeply flavorful and provide a wonderful color to the dish.

            Crush 2/3 of them up and put them in a bottle of vodka about 750ml in a dark place for a week.
            carefully strain in a coffee filter and add the remain ing currents for a little garnish. While they soak in the vodka before you do this pour about 1/2 cup of the vodka out to soak the remaining currents.

              Wow, that sounds great! Alas, I am not a big drinker, so have about 125 mLs only in the house. If had a bottle of vodka though, I'd be doing it!
