With the Bay Tower Room and Julien Bar gone, what's quiet, classy and elegant?
Just returned to the area, and wanted to have a quiet, elegant, tasteful cocktail. Immediately thought of the Bay Tower Room for the view, and Julien Bar for the service, piano playing and exceptional Kir Royale's.
I just discovered that the Bay Tower Room is closed (drugs, financial suicide and incompetent management), and the Julien Bar is no more.
Where would you now go for the same atmosphere and service?
Thanks

Whoa, I did not know that BTR backstory.
The remaining quiet-ish, elegant bars (most of which are in luxury hotels) include the Rowes Wharf Bar, the Bristol, the Bar at the Taj, the Avery Bar (at the new Ritz), the redone but still lovely Oak Bar (now known as the Oak Long Bar & Kitchen), the Salon at L'Espalier, Parker's, the bar at Rialto, The Hawthorne (though it's more of a neo-speakeasy than an old-school hotel bar), the bar at Mooo...., the bar at No. 9 Park, the bar at Clio (though it's sometimes less than quiet), the bar at Locke-Ober (though the quality of bartending has never been great).
Subtract the requirement for quiet and many other options open up, like the swank but loud bars at many luxury steakhouses in town.
