Oneonta Gem

just passing through Oneonta on business and stopped for lunch at what looked like the best choice out of , well, not a lot.

Stopped at the Red Caboose at 214 Main Street, Oneonta. Discovered a smallish restaurant using fresh, local food in great imaginative dishes. Beautiful greens that tasted and looked like they were just released from the garden bed a few hours ago. Stayed in town that night and returned for dinner. grilled wild salmon with eggplant puree - wow. Beautifully plated and served by staff that seemed to be delighted and thrilled to be working there and serving that fabulous food. Only one, small and really minor suggestion - the wine by the glass selection could have been a little more imaginative. Only offered one chardonnay - SeaGlass -

I might just start looking for a lot more business here just to eat at the Red Caboose again.

Cheers
