New Japanese BBQ Coming To White Plains

I was walking down Main Street on my way home this afternoon and noticed there is a new Japanese BBQ restaurant opening up next door to Vintage across from The Galleria. The windows were papered and the sinn said "coming soon".

  1. When I read "Japanese BBQ" I at first thought... does White Plains need another hibachi-style place? There's already Noda and Impulse. Then I hit up Google and found out about a chain of restaurants called Gyu-Kaku - - and learned that they're the one opening in White Plains -
They have three locations in Manhattan.

Impulse has closed the beginning of July. The space is empty again. I believe Gyu-Kaku is the name of the new place.

the website makes the food look rather sad. interesting concept I guess but I don't want to cook my own food. it's like a japanese melting pot franchise...

it will be interesting if it makes it in that spot.

I was thinking the same thing. Surprisingly they received pretty decent reviews on the NYC board.

      2. Gyu-Kaku is decent for yakiniku. They run some nice specials. It will be nice to have a Japanese style BBQ restaurant, even if its a chain.
