Sundae expedition to Hinsch's

Fida Jul 25, 2012 12:45 PM

Meant to post here, with thanks. I was thinking of making an expedition from Manhattan to Eddies' Sweet Shop in search of sundaes, and when I was trying to figure out how to get there, I ran across hints that the place was no longer worth a trip, and I was detoured to Hinsch's instead.

Disappointingly shiny place. And the waitress was surprisingly flaky, considering there were one three tables occupied. But happy with my hot fudge sundae. It was a little skimpy at the price ($5.50, I think), and no embellishments, but the fudge was good (not overly sweet), and the bonus of actual, real whipped cream was decadently exciting.

Eddies Sweet Shop is worth the trip. But you seem hard to please. So I guess just stay home and fantasize about what the past was like.

Hinsch hasn't been the same since they closed it then reopened it. Next time try Annapolis on 3rd in the 70's.
