Murray's Cheese Bar to open today!

...In the old Bar'rique space on Bleecker Street.

    1. Wow! I wanted to go to Murray's. This sounds even better!

      1. I went Sunday and had a lovely experience. Had already dined at da Silvano but went for cheese course and wine tasting. Wine list is fantastic! Well-curated, great by-the-glass selection. Decent prices. And of course, the cheese! Including a few offerings exclusive to the cheese bar.

        Half the space is white tiled, and I'd expected it to get loud, but it was fine. Quite crowded for a summer Sunday.

        The staff really was a stand out; everyone seemed excited to be part of something new and special. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, great combination of friendly and professional.

        1. I ended up going on opening night, last minute. We went around 10:30 p.m. and the space was comfortably buzzing.

          I liked the space a lot and I have to agree about the wine lists—varied, well-priced list. Nice selection of beers and ciders too. My friends both had cider, I had a riesling, and my BF had a glass of sherry. Queso fundido and mac and cheese were the two food stand-outs.

          1. Just wanted to add to this. Had no idea this was here and my husband and I wandered in last evening. Had a lovely 5 cheese plate and wine, both recommended by the bar staff. Will definitely come again and maybe try the fondue next time, which looked interesting. I just have to add this also happens to be a great way to market Murrays cheese next door. After you try these wonderful cheeses, you want to buy some for yourself! (we didn't, but I can see people doing that). Good luck to Murray's WinemBar, a very nice addition to Bleecker Street.
