last minute trip to the Getty Center -- no time for searching boards

notjustastomach Jul 25, 2012 07:42 AM

Woke up in San Diego and decided to take a day at the Getty Center. I'm afraid that I will not have time to search through the previous postings for lunch suggestions.

Not looking for a multi-course extravaganza, but also not worried about cost or food style. Just an excellent prandium.

Can you help a brother out?

You could eat at the Restaurant at the Getty Center.

Some of the best food you'll find at any museum in the Getty Center Restaurant. Entrees run around $20 dollars for lunch They have a nice leg of lamb sandwich. Very good service with great canyon views. Nice patio too.

A picnic on the museum grounds is also another option.

Tavern makes pretty good picnic baskets, and is sort of on the way (sort of). http://www.tavernla.com/cheese.html

A picnic on the grounds is a superb idea. Tavern does do a nice basket. I like the one with the turkey ficelle sandwich

The cafe at the Getty is the obvious choice. Good food, beaautiful location.
