Massif Central food and lodging -- any suggestions?
My family and I will be driving through the Massif Central next week (starting in Chalon-sur-Saone, and then heading to Vichy, Clermont-Ferrand, Limoges, Oradour-sur-Glane, and then heading toward Bordeaux, although our itinerary is quite flexible). This isn't a super-touristy area, so we're hoping to find some hidden gems throughout the countryside. Anything of particular note? We are willing to take a detour if it's worth it. We would also like to stay at little family-run inns, rather than hotels, and enjoy some tables d'hote dining. Any recommendations? Merci!
