Restaraunts With Soy Dishes? [split from another thead]
not to hijack your thread, but i have a related, but opposite, request:
since i am an avid consumer of soy products, i would love to know of any restaurants that focus on soy-based food that are near the westside.
(i'm already aware of vinh loi tofu and love it, also, aware of happy family in monterey park, but trying to find places closer to home)

Not great soon tofu but will do if you're not willing to drive to K-town are Tofu-ya and Seoul House of Tofu both on Sawtelle. My slight preference may be for Seoul House of Tofu but that might be more for parking reasons. Not spicy by K-town standards but if you're heat adverse, you can always order very mild or without spice. Vegetarian and seafood options are available.
I think they are also still serving house made tofu at Mori... ;)

re: PeterCC
i wasn't as impressed with Thai Vegan as the other hounds seem to be.
seemed bland .
the main flavor profile seemed to me to be 'salty'.to me almost everything tasted like it needed some fresh ginger root and/or some spicy fresh diced red pepper and/or something acidic in order to shine.
for plain tofu, i've been pretty happy with musha's homemade tofu.
a vegetarian or seafood soon tofu is more of what i'm looking for.
also, would love something close to the Happy Family tofu dishes (NOT their fake meat dishes) if i could get them around the westside or the beach cities.
i'm wild about the Happy Family tofu sheets served with chopped mustard greens, but the drive is just too daunting these days. .-

re: Ciao Bob
i haven't gone there because, from the posts about the place, it really seems like it is set up for a "whole meal" service.
at that price level, for a whole meal, i would be heading to sushi zo.
didn't sound to me like it would make any sense to stop in for that one dish. what think you?
