i am travelling to New York in November and working out an itinerary. I would like to go to Momofuku Ssam on the Friday night. Are the queues horrendous? What is the best time to try?

Do you have to queue outside or is there a bar you can sit it?

They have a bar next door called Booker & Dax, but it is seated only, no standing.

They will take your name and you can wait at Booker & Dax if they have room, or you can wait outside.

There is a counter inside but it is treated like regular seating.

How big is your party? If you're a solo diner, it should be fairly quick, especially around 6-7pm.

Yea, I was there this past Friday. We were a party of 3, arrived at 8 PM, and were sat without any wait. The place was nearly full though.
