Taking a former client, a successful NYC restaurant owner, (restaurants are favorites on Chowhound) to lunch.

Good food, not too formal, but not too casual. Well-designed or at least attractive space. This Tuesday, so not too hard to get a reservation, please. Not Asian or Spanish, please. Price not an issue.

Thanks everyone. Turns out the client wanted to be in a very specific area, so I made a reservation at Maialino. Never been, so I'm very excited to try it. Lots of good suggestions for the next time!

I went to Fig & Olive last weekend and really liked it. The space is light and airy, kind of California coastal casual. It's on the west side. Actually, it' directly across from funk master flex Beaumarchais. I think you'd be able to just walk in for lunch without a wait,.
