Anniversary Weekend in Philly

Hi. My husband and I are spending the weekend in Philadelphia to celebrate our anniversary. We have reservations on Friday night at Tallula's Garden. We'd love any suggestions for brunch on Sat or Sun and dinner Sat night.
(we heard Garces Trading Co had a nice brunch-- wondering if anyone had any feedback).
Thanks so much for any help and suggestions!

  1. Have brunch on Sunday at Lacroix. It is the best (high end) brunch in the city.

For what time? We always go at 11 and just hang out until we are done. They won't rush you out.

11:15-- I'm so excited. The menu looks amazing!

It is. All of the hot entrees are served in the kitchen. It is quite amazing the first time you walk in there.

Enjoy! It is truly an amazing experience.

      2. Definitely Lacroix for Sunday and I'd recommend Kanella for Saturday brunch/lunch or dinner.

For Saturday dinner, we might need more info about what you're looking for... BYOB? Price range? Cuisine?

Thanks so much. I'm checking LaCroix right now! For Saturday night, we are open to everything. We are looking for an experience since its a special occasion. We need to avoid sushi (I'm pregnant), but other than that, we'd love something special.

        2. Brunch at LaCroix is fabulous - an experience to remember. I suggest you get the earlier seating. You will be filled for the rest of the day and might want a light dinner. (I think the seatings are 11 and 1:30, but I'm not sure.)

          1. For dinner Saturday night you might want to try one of our byob's. Fond, Littlefish, Modo Mio, Bibou are all excellent. I'm sure others here have good suggestions.

Thanks! I'm looking into these places right now!

For a special occasion, I'd put Bibou at the front of that list, followed by Fond. Food is very good at all but service and atmosphere are a notch above the others.

              2. I'm going to add another suggestion for Saturday dinner--Vedge. It is a vegan restaurant, but don't let that scare you off. It is some of the most creative, exciting food in the city. We recently went there for a birthday dinner. I'm not a vegetarian and my husband is not a vegetable lover in general and we both loved it. All of the suggestions you've gotten are good, but this would be a more unusual experience, one you can't get just about anywhere else.

I'd skip Garces for a different brunch in town IMO...
