Tanzy in Boca

  • 1

ok...i understand that our party of 4 seniors didn't fit the demographic thatTanzy is designed to attract but restaurants are always supposed to deliver good food and service.Tanzy failed dismally in both categories.the salads, ceaser and house, were poorly presented with flavorless dressings. The three pasta dishes appeared to have been assembled well ahead of time and run under a broiler or microwaved since they were crusted ,dried out and heavy...none of the three were finished and we were all hungry. The fourth dish was scallops with pureed turnups ,it seemed passable. We finished with a berry zabaglione....which had as much resemblance to the real dish as coolwhip has to real whipped cream...there wasn't a hint of marsala. I'm afraid that the developers of this supposedly upscale dining experience either know nothing about food or,and i think it's more likely, they believe their customers will be dazzled by the glitz and buzz and noise and forget that they were there to eat real food. By the way,the Cheese Course next door is a terrific spot and i hope it can survive the commotion brought on by I-Pic and Yardhouse.

  1. Tanzy is visually appealing but the food is another story. Too much sauce, too much fruit in savory food, and too much fanfare trying to compete with the ambiance. Yuck.
