Can I convert this recipe for a slow cooker?

    Yes, but cut the apple cider down by 1/2 cup or slightly less (or you could fold a kitchen towel below the lid and use more liquid). And, don't baste. Every time you open the crock pot, it takes a long time for it to come to temperature.

      Why not? I'd sear the meat first, then apply all those ingredients to slow cooker cooking times. You wont get the 'bark,' exterior you'd get from an oven or smoker by doing it in a slow cooker but the flavor should be pretty much the same.
