Ahi poke craving!

  • 4

Can anyone suggest a place in town that sells good ahi poke? We just came back from Hawaii and just couldn't get enough of ahi poke. We're still having island fever and in search of very good tasting ahi poke.

  1. Poke express on Craig has several fantastic takeout options for poke. Their hours are quirky, so check first. http://m.yelp.com/biz/poke-express-no...

    1. This is going to sound kind of silly, but have you tried the California hotel? They cater very strongly to vacationing Hawaiians, enough so that Hawaiians have dubbed Vegas the Ninth Island. I can't vouch for the quality, but I would imagine at least the Aloha Specialties restaurant on the second floor would have poke good enough to satisfy Hawaiians. It wouldn't surprise me if their 24-hour coffee shop has it too. As a side note, if you're downtown late at night, the oxtail soup in the Cal's 24-hour coffee shop is pretty darn tasty.

At Aloha Specialities, the poke isn't a regular offering. It does show up on the white board specials a lot.

Just to mention: The L&L Hawaiian Barbecue chain does the same thing--poke may or may not be on the whiteboard, depending on time and location.
