Lunch for 40 seniors near South Coast Botanical Gardens in Palos Verdes?

Love LA Jul 19, 2012 10:35 PM

My senior church group is planning a bus trip to the South Coast Botanical Gardens at 26300 Crenshaw Blvd. in Palos Verdes in a few months. We need to find a restaurant for a lunch stop, one that can accommodate 40-45 people, hopefully with a separate room. Modest prices only, up to $20 including tax & tip. Any recs most appreciated.

The Admiral Risty in Palos Verdes may be what you are looking for.

Unfortunately, unless their trip is on a Sunday when the Admiral serves brunch, then this won't work as they don't open until 5 PM for dinner. I think that the Catalina Kitchen at the Terrana resort would work as long as they stick to the salads or sandwiches and drink water. I would call them and arrange this in advance and work out a menu with prices, tip and tax.

Thanks Servog. I didn't know.... but this from Admiral Risty's web site."The Admiral Risty is available Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to accommodate up to 150 guests for sit- down luncheons" so maybe it's still worth a call to them.

That changes things and puts the Admiral back on the table for this lunch. My "group" is normally 2 (wife and me) so I end up not noticing those "fine print" blurbs about true group dining. Thanks for setting the record straight.

Off topic, but it made me laugh -- I read this at first glance as
      "40 SENATORS"
      -- seemed implausible!

senators wouldn't be looking for "modest prices"

i don't think there are any private dining rooms that big in the area. aside from terranea, there are restaurants in the torrance towne centre and the promenade in pv that could handle a party of 40. i'm thinking ruby's next to the skating rink in pv.
