Raleigh - Fortune Palace

Andrea Weigl (N&O) reported in her blog that Fortune Palace closed in May. She mentions the two couples who owned it are considering opening a smaller restaurant. I hope so!

    The new restaurant in this location is open."Pho & Japanese Steakhouse" seems to be the name.

        Just what the area DOES NOT need: another asian fusion restaurant that offers mediocre versions of various unique asian cuisines. Hope I'm wrong. Hard to find old style cantonese anymore either.

            I hope their banh mi are good! It would be great to have that option back in that shopping center.

          Went by today for lunch and they seemed closed with work still going on.

            So sorry - I had driven by and seen the lights on & the open sign turned on a few times in the last week. Next time I'm by and they look open I'll park and try the door. (Note to self, stop forgetting about what "assume" means!)

          I drove by there the other day. The Fortune Palace location has a sign indicating a Japanese Steakhouse is coming soon. The grocery/food court part of the center has signs of reopening.

          Hopefully it will all be good!
