SF Trip Report
RoliRoti - porchetta/potatoes - A
Perbacco - B While quite good, it just was not GREAT. Did not get the salami plate. Pastas were solid
Slanted Door - B-
Bar Tartine - A+ Grilled Tripe was out of this world, and actually recommended to us by the bartender at Commonwealth, where just had some wine, no food.
Shanghai Dumpling King - B+ Quick snack Salted Duck was great, XLB, so-so
Mandalay - A I wish we had Burmese like that in LA. Tea Salad is a treat as were the special noodles.
Aziza- A Cocktails amazing as well as the whole meal...sous vide duck breast entree was spectacular.
Pizzeria Delphine - A The Purgatorio pizza was just great.
Swan Oyster Depot - A++++ 1/2 hour wait. Loved everything especially the scallops served sashimi-style with olive oil and capers. A local fisherman (boy, really) brought in his catch and proceeded to open a sea urchin behind the bar, right in front of us. He gave us a taste - briny and beautiful.
Amusing story...we wanted oysters prior to dinner at Bar Tartine, so we headed to Foreign Cinema, which was closed for a private party on Sunday night night. Did some fast googling and "discovered" Hogs and Rocks was nearby. Walked there...CLOSED ALSO for their anniversary party. No Oysters in the Mission for us.
Thanks for all your chow-help!
We had a fantastic time eating, drinking and walking your beautiful and fun city.
