The Cookery in Dobbs Ferry - What to order?

Going to The Cookery on Saturday night - any suggestions?

Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on their menu - especially the specials. But, the absolute MUST-HAVES for me are the crostini w/ ricotta, the meatballs (best I ever had), and the buttery salty potatoes (ultimate guilty pleasure). I trust you'll enjoy whatever you order though.

Sorry if there is already a thread about this, if there is I couldn't find it, but does anyone know when the Cookery will be reopening? I was supposed to go to a fundraiser there on Monday but it has been canceled and no word on when it's rescheduled. Has anyone heard anything?

No date on their FB page. They posted on Wednesday and said they will let people know when they are reopening. They had a fire in the basement, in case you had not heard.

Thanks MisterBill, yes I did know about the fire I just wasn't sure of the extent of it. Thanks for the info.

Just saw this on the HVRW restaurant page.

            Cookery--
Week 1 -- Unable to participate due to fire; hoping to participate in week 2. Stay tuned

The Cookery reopened for business on November 21st although according to the article I read they are no longer opened for lunch. :(

I've had some extraordinarily good mains there, including a whole lamb's head special... but the pastas are, to me, the star

The only thing I ever had there that I didn't care for was a duck tongue appetizer--too slimy and fatty for my taste. Will this be your first time there? Their "signature" dishes for me are the crostino with ricotta, honey and thyme appetizer, homemade mozz appetizer, radiatore with lamb bolognese and stickabutta pie. I have also loved any of their liver terrines, pastas and fish. Enjoy and please report back on their specials, we haven't been in awhile!
