Phuket in W. Roxbury, that was weird

So we ordered thai delivery from Phuket tonight, and in order to bust the $20 delivery cap, we ordered an extra app, the Phuket wings. Having had some pretty good thai wings in the past (in particular at the thai place in Cleveland Circle who's name escapes me), I had some mild hopes. What I got was, I shit you not, Wing Dings!!!! Freaking Wing Dings!!!!!

Now that being said, they did have a tasty side sauce, like a vietnamese nauc chom type of thing, but WIng Dings, for reals!!!! I wasn't totally upset, cuz I loves me some Wing Dings when I know that I am ordering them, just was a little surprised that a place that seems to be fairly decent Thai food would pull this stunt. Go figure!

  1. Virtually every Thai restaurant around (yes, even S&I) makes money on people who don't really want Thai food by offering an extensive list of appetizers, nearly all of which are prepared by steaming or deep-frying frozen food service items. Dings!

I guess so, i suppose i was just spoiled by the excellent Thai wings at that spot in Cleveland Circle (as I mentioned), was just caught off gaurd. For what it's worth, fresh wings are actually cheaper than the dings

    2. Bangkok Bistro in Cleveland Circle? I haven't been there for a long time, I'll have to go!

Neither have I, but when we did go (the 90's, when I lived in Allston/Brighton) back in the day, the Bistro Sampler was great, with nice tasty wings

      2. That happened to me at another restaurant recently. I ordered Asian spicy wings and was treated to wing dings with some green peppers and hot peppers on it.....disappointing
