Taco Truck Needed for Party - August 2012

I have read through numerous threads about Taco Trucks but most are dated and I need the current scoop as well as my geographic area seems to differ than that of previous threads.

We are having a party on August 11th in Dublin and would like to have a taco truck that can come out after hours, ie 8pm to midnight. We only need tacos no other foods (well chips and salsa would be great but no burrittos etc.) Want to keep the price per head about $5-$6...our head count is going to be around 50-75 people (obviously still working on RSVP list).

From all the reports I've seen trucks usually have a minimum that's more than your budget (i.e. $500).

thanks Ruth, I had already seen the thread you mentioned. However the link you mentioned is not geographically the same. Taco Trucks don't want to travel far distances. I realize there are many in Stockton, San Francisco, San Jose...however it is not worth the taco trucks while to travel an hour plus for a little gig. I am looking for someone who is willing to do it in the east bay. Also, I my party is a late night party and not every taco truck is willing to work all day on the corner in Hayward and then jump out to Dublin for a 4 hour stint. I am sure that there is someone local that would do this but I haven't found them yet.

Actually, some of those places were in Oakland. But my main point is that your budget is unrealistic, since the maximum suggested by your post (max 75 guests at max $6/person) is only $450.

If you want someone local, I suggest you drive around and find a truck in your area and/or drop into some of your local taquerias to see if they know someone. You might be able to get a taco cart (rather than a truck) for your budget.
