Hwe dup bap in San Francisco?
I was just reading Jonathan Gold's mouthwatering article about Korean food in L.A., and one dish, hew dup bap, an "elaborate, raw-fish salad leavened with dried seaweed and hot rice and flavored with chile paste" sounds awfully good. Is there an SF restaurant that makes this especially well? I'd love to try it!

noticed the hew dup bap was found in a korea restaurant specializing in this dish.
tried the korean version of chirashi in some korean owned japanese eateries in the bay area
invariably the fish was chopped up in small pieces of fish and dosed with plenty of korean hot sauce. (not the kind from the bottle.)
this dish might be found in authentic korea restaurants in santa clara. the bay area doubful. s.f. maybe. certainly not in korean owned japanese eateries.
Mioki Sushi may be an exception.
-dish listed as "We Dup Bab" -"sashimi over rice" under other entrees, (15.95 lunch/dinner).
I tend to see it at just about any Korean-owned sushi restaurant in the area. I was first introduced to it at Jiro in Union City. I've also had it at the sushi place in Union City that's in the Marina Foods shopping center.
In Oakland I've been going to Kansai. I've also tried it at Drunken Fish some years ago, but at the time there was too much lettuce.
I glanced at the Yelp entry for A-Won and it definitely looks like they are a sushi place and they don't just serve hwe dup bap.
just had hwe dup bap at Mioki Sushi in Fremont which is far from SF but it was good hwe dup bap! its a sushi restaurant but the owners are korean and it is authentically good korean hwe dup bap. im not positive if this one had dried seaweed but they had raw fish, rice, roe, tiny quail egg on top and a GREAT korean chile sauce..... having moved from LA just recently, i can say this tastes as good as some of the hwe dup bap down there :)
