Bodega y Tapas was an old favorite spot of mine - my original go-to place for authentic, well-prepared Spanish tapas located at the quieter end of bustling Orchard Road, before British uber-chef Jason Atherton opened Esquina:

Back for pre-dinner snacks there last night, and was glad to see that Bodega y Tapas had maintained its high standards. Not too sure if the kitchens were still helmed by the very talented Roberto Hernandez.

We ordered a spread of tapas - the most memorable being the:
- Albóndigas - lamb meatballs with tomato-based sauce
- Gambas al ajillo - garlic prawns, but with added chopped chillies here to give it a spike in flavor!
- Tortilla española - Spanish omelette containing potatoes & onions

Absolutely delish.

oooh i liked this place. fantastic food. i liked the gambas too!

although the last time i was there, the servers were fawning over the "gweilo" tables. now my SO refuses to go back there :(
