Birthday Dinner and drinks suggestions around LES???

Hi, trying to plan a birthday outing for a group (small group for dinner and a slightly larger group for drinks later on) in their mid-late 20s for Saturday night. Looking for either someplace good we can eat with a funvibe and not too expensive and possible stay at all night to drink or places that are in close proximity to one another. Not looking for a full blown club scene but would like someplace nice for drinks and music is a must, rooftop is a plus as well.

So far I've been focused on the LES so we won't have to deal with hassle of doormen in meatpacking district or traveling too far uptown. I've been looking at Stanton Social for dinner and drinks at the delancey rooftop. Can anyone give me any advice about these places or other suggestions in or around the area? I've been told Stanton has a bar but is it someplace we want to stay all night?

Thanks guys! I really appreciate any suggestions or advice you can give me.

  1. If you're looking to stay after you eat I'd first suggest Beauty and Essex. Its the same owners as Stanton, but caters much more towards the after dinner crowd. Another suggestion is CO-OP. They do well with groups, and also have a fun after dinner room.

I personally am not a fan of The Delancey. I think its in a seedy area, and gets a weird crowd...but to each his own.

Thanks, Co-op sounds like a good prospect. Do you know what kind of door policy they have? If people meet us later on in the night for drinks will they have a hard time getting through a bouncer and getting in or is it the type of place they can just get in?

I don't remember it being problem (line wise) for friends that met up after...but it was a few months ago. Places are constantly changing as for "whats in" and whats not. I think maybe give them a call and ask. I don't see why they wouldn't be honest with you.
