Flaveur or Bistro Gourmand in Nice
We're spending a couple days in Nice and are trying to decide between Flaveur and Bistro Gourmand for dinner -- most nights I plan on buying fish and produce at the local market (plus cheese and wine at the shops mentioned on this board). Although there are a lot of positive comments on Flaveur, I'm not especially loving the menu on their site. I love modern cooking with impeccable ingredients, especially fish and vegetables, but prepared in a somewhat classical approach (in terms of flavor combinations). The menu at Bistro Gourmand appeals to me, but I haven't read much in terms of reviews. I would be grateful for advice.

They are both enjoyable; if you can't get a reservation at Flaveur, Le Bistro Gourmand will be a fine substitute. Why not go to both? They are reasonably priced.

Never been to Bistro Gourmand and have only been to Nice twice so I am no expert, but Flaveur was hands down our best meal in Nice ever and I'd go back there in a heartbeat. While some of the flavor combinations were different, they were so in a "good" way, meaning that I didn't find them so creative that they felt contrived. Modern cooking with impeccable ingredients is how I'd describe Flaveur, to a T.
