Avalon, NJ
Looking for restaurant recommendations in & around Avalon. We'll be with our 18 mo old. Will most likely take out lunch & go for early dinners (around 6pm). Would like to know what has good food & would be okay for a toddler at such an early hour. All types of food are welcome & price is moderate. Thanks!

Maggie's on Dune Drive has excellent food, especially home made turkey, and reasonable prices. Good family atmosphere, they love kids. Circle Pizza on Dune Drive has really good pizza, salads and sandwiches and reasonable prices. Uncle Bills on Dune Drive has great breakfasts in a family atmosphere. Avalon Seafood has great fresh seafood , including sushi, for takeout, but they can be pricey. Pudgy Pelican also has really good breakfasts and lunches. Via Mare has good Italian food on Ocean Drive. Sylvester's is also really great for seafood, and you eat outside at picnic tables or you can take out. Whitebriar is good for dinner, but can be pricey and is a more adult atmosphere (although I've frequently seen children there). If you're willing to drive a bit, Henny's takeout on Ocean drive has an excellent but somewhat limited menu, including real old fashioned snapper soup. Quahog's Seafood Shack in Stone Harbor has excellent food, too, and is moderately priced (try the fish ribs).
