Happy Hour around Edison Area?
I know of a few good happy hour deals but need more.
E.g., Fox & Hound have $2 pints on Tuesdays but I could not stand the noise when I went there a few weeks ago and had to leave right away.
I once went to JJ Bitting and liked it but it is a bit out of the way and food choice is limited for veg. Pizza was not that good.
The Brownstone in Metuchen was not worth the trip.
Romano's have a happy and reverse happy hour staring at 9:30pm.
Wish I know of more places.

I second Shannon Rose. Other ideas- Skylark Diner on Rt. 1 No. In Edison, Hailey's Harp and Pub in Metuchen, Kona Grill on Rt. 1 South and Gill Lane (in Renaissance Hotel parking lot). The Renaissance itself has a very tripped out bar and decent bar eats. For awesome live blues, check out Robin's Nest in Linden, not far and truly a local gem. Wed. night is the open mic blues party.

I tried Fox & Hound once and would not return. Barternder/waitress was not the least bit friendly and my burger wasn't very good. I've had better experiences next door at Rainforest Cafe. Not a place I'd go out of my way for, but better than F & H if you're at the mall and feel like a burger & beer.

re: MarlboroMan
It's a sector that Wall Street calls "eatertainment." Rainforest Cafe, Planet Hollywood, etc. The problem is that people try it once and often don't feel the need to go back, even if they didn't think it was bad. I believe the only RFC's to survive in NJ are Menlo and the AC Boardwalk.
Then there's "breastaurants". And you know which places fall into that category.

re: ebchower
I frequent the Fox and Hound probably once a month go there with a buddy watch sports and shoot pool. I have always found the bartenders and servers to be very nice and friendly. I'm surprised you found it to be different. As far as food goes I really can't comment because I tend to not eat at places like that however I have had the wings several times and they were always good.

"Ready to Rock the Clock at BIG SHOTS ? Party starts at 7pm $0.50 coors light increases $0.25 every hour .. Get here early, come visit me at the patio bar.. WDHA radio in the House and a chance to win baseball tickets!!!"
Ironically I just got this message on my facebook and thought about this thread. Big Shot's is on Rt. 1 in Woodbridge one or two lights past the mall. Not to far from Edison but certainly worth the drive. $.50 coors lights?
