Burmese in Denver?

Mostly looking for Burmese Tea Leaf Salad, which I'm 99% convinced I can't find here. But- I would be happy if anyone had a source for the tea leaves (lephet) locally.

Thank you!

  1. Nothing that I know of by you, but these folks (in NY) will do mail order & have a good selection, if that's any help:

wow- thank you for this! I've been looking for a website for the tea leaves, and coming up with a lot of dead ends and bad links. Now I just have to figure out what I need.

I got Yuzana brand, which never tested positive for Auramine O even when the other brands did, although I have heard that the other manufacturers' leaves no longer contain it. Didn't bother getting the other ingredients -- fried peas etc. -- since I can do those at home. Just wonderful. Mumshouse in the UK also carries the leaves, & if you look back & forth between the sites, you can pretty much tell what is what (labels seem to be in Burmese only).

    2. Hi. I'm a former refugee from Burma but I'm ethnic Karen. There are Tea Leaf Salad on Colfax and Yosemite at a Burmese market "Family Asia Market."

Mulania, thank you for that information! I have since traveled to Burma and learned to make tea leaf salad, even fermenting my tea leaves, but when I am next in that area I will check out the Market.

FYI- did not travel to Burma just to learn to make a salad ;) beautiful country and people.
