Birthday Cake- DE/MD Beaches

I'll be down in South Bethany for a week in August and am wondering if there is anywhere I can order or pick up a birthday cake. Bakery? Restaurant with good desserts? Nothing fancy, just a cake at normal bakery prices.

Thanks.

McCabes Gourmet Market has great baked things and I would bet they would do a birthday cake if you gave them notice. On route 1 in Bethany. In the same center is a very good sushi place. For great seafood go one night to Blue coast in north Bethany. Defibo's has great Italian. Near Defibo's is Capriotti's for great hoagies. I love the Bobby which is thanksgiving turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing. I don't know the name bt near the beach in Bethany next to the candy kitchen is a place that has super Philly cheesesteaks. Have fun in Bethany!

Thanks for the suggestions. I hope that we will be able to make it out to a restaurant at least once, but with a 3 yr old I think that we will be eating take out and cooking at the house. After a stressful year the whole family is looking forward to a trip down memory lane and a little R&R.

Griff's has yummy cakes. I haven't been this year though . . . hopefully they're still open. Griff's Bethany Beach Bakery

Thank you. The last time I was in Bethany was 15 years ago and can only remember where to buy ice cream, popcorn, and fries. I can now cross cake off my list. Still need to figure out where to buy crabs...

We get all our seafood at the beach at Rehoboth Seafood Market. Not Bethany, of course, but if you're willing to go a bit out of your way, there are a couple other worthwhile places in the immediate vicinity of the market. Gelato Gal's gelato is indescribably good, and there's a doughnut shop called The Fractured Prune that covers hot made-from-scratch doughnuts in a variety of glazes and toppings. So bad for you... so delicious. I believe there is a Fractured Prune in Ocean City MD as well (could be wrong).

In college we would drive from Salisbury to Crisfield or east on 50/113 for crabs, but since we won't need a bushel somewhere closer to Bethany (like Rehoboth) is great. I never did make it to a Fractured Prune when I lived in Bmore, now is my chance.
